General Cleaning Schedule

This is my general cleaning schedule which  I made five years ago.  It is in my unfinished household manual. I had one full time live in maid.  It is very comprehensive.  Seems like a lot of work but the maid still got to have a one hour break in the afternoon.

This is broken down to the areas of the house, the tasks that need to be done, how often the task needs to be done, time it should be done and what day and which week specific tasks need  to be accomplished.

The key to having everything accomplished is that the maid has to be thoroughly trained of the standards and procedures.  She has to have the right tools, supplies and equipment which will make her fast and efficient.   At the end of the day, check her work, critique it.  Praise her on what she did well and let her know of those that need improvement.  If she is not doing well in certain areas, train her again.  Let her know of your expectations!

What I also consider very important is, at the beginning of  her work engagement, she has to be told and she has to understand that there should be:
1.  No watching TV during work period unless all tasks have been accomplished.
2.  No texting or celphone calls and she has to inform her family and friends that she cannot accepts calls unless it is very, very important, during work hours.
3.  No socializing with other maids in the compound until after all her work is done.
4.  No flirting with the boys, drivers and the security guard!

Lastly, so that she will not complain that she has no energy to do all the work,  feed her well.  I do not mean steak and seafood.  I tell my maids to eat whatever food there is in the ref and in the pantry except for food which I tell her is specifically just for the family.  And telling her exactly which she is off limits to at the  very start  is important so that there will be no headache and misunderstanding.
